Have you ever thought about the Singularity and Oneness? Why every spiritual guru or motivational speakers talk about it? What is it? What’s the reality behind it? Can I feel oneness or union with God? Well, if you want to know the answers, you are at the right place. The concept of singularity and oneness is like a single story with two names, perceived in different ways. For science it is singularity and for religions it is oneness.

Scientific Singularity

With the advancement of science and technology, scientists tried to explore the universe from the very beginning from a logical point of view.

Until 1960’s scientists believed that universe was always existing and has no beginning or end. According to Einstein’s theory of relativity, the universe was still expanding in all directions which means that it started expanding from a single source. That’s how the concept of singularity was born for science. A point where all known laws of physics break down. A point which triggered the big bang.

NASA’s Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) used radiations left behind to predict the age of the universe. project’s nine-year data release in 2012 estimated the age of the universe to be 13.772 billion years, with an uncertainty of plus or minus 59 million years. It is impossible to see the singularity or the actual Big Bang itself because time and space exist inside the massive field of singularity (our universe) and, therefore, there is no way to know about anything before the big bang.

A point or region of infinite mass density at which space and time are infinitely distorted by gravitational forces and which is held to be the final state of matter falling into a black hole.

So, logically everything came from nothing and everything dissolves into nothing. This nothingness is the supreme singularity.

Scientists accept that the universe might have born from a single source but it never accepts the religious perspective because of many confusing stories.

Religious Oneness

Whatever the story is, religions always have something common they all believe in one supreme God. He created the universe within him to enjoy its beauty and love as creation. There is nothing beyond him. We are part of him and everything is born out of his intelligence. Everything is created and preserved by the same one energy in different forms. and it’s the foundation of oneness for religions.

It’s hard for science to figure out the unity in creation but there is a practice which you can do to feel the ecstasy of oneness and that’s by the practice of yoga and meditation. It takes a lot of devotion to meditate but once you are heartily devoted, you will see immense changes in your life in few days.

The Oneness state begins by discovering oneness within oneself, oneness in the family, oneness in society and oneness in the country. It doesn’t stop there. You also then discover oneness with the planet, Oneness towards all living things, oneness with the universe and of course finally you become one with the Supreme Light.

Science considers material world (the universe) as the only reality but religions believe that something gave birth to the material world, which was omnipresent and they called it God or supernatural (which is the universe itself).

Although science has many times got the glimpse of the reality, it finds too hard to explore or imitate reality because the truth lies beyond logic which decides the limitations of science. We must not that forget that the reality of the self and the universe is questionable with a scientific mindset and explorable with a spiritual mindset.
